Gambia’s First lady, Madam Zineb Yahya Jammeh, has expressed her firm support and love for President Jammeh more than ever, in an interview with the Daily Observer Company…The first lady said that President Yahya Jammeh is a very devoted leader able to ensure peace and stability in a country.
“It is never perfect, but it is very important to acknowledge the positive. It is important to say what is negative but never forget to acknowledge what is positive as well,” she stated.
The First Lady made her first statement to the media since the aftermath of the disputed December 1, Presidential Election results yesterday during her visit to the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital (EFSTH) in Banjul.
The First Lady indicated that Gambia has achieved a lot over the past years and there is still more to do and achieve. “It is never perfect, but it is very important to acknowledge the positive. It is important to say what is negative but never forget to acknowledge what is positive as well,” she stated.
As a First Lady of this great Nation, she added, her main concern is always to fulfill her duties and responsibilities as the mother of the Nation and never interfere in anything else. “But I believe also as loyal citizen of this country, as a First Lady, as a mother, as a sister and as a daughter; it is very important that we stand for our rights,” she noted.
Therefore, the First Lady added it is very important that they stand for their rights; expressed fully and truly what they believe in and what they want and not to let anybody else to think what is good for them or to tell them what to do.
She finally wishes a Happy New Year to all Gambians and everyone in the world. “I wish all Gambian and non- Gambian in the country a Happy New Year full of happiness, success, prosperity as well as peace and stability.”
