Civil servants in Oyo State are to simultaneously receive outstanding salaries for June and July.
Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr Toye Arulogun, who give this information, on Tuesday, said the state government approved the payment of two months salaries for workers in the spirit of the festive season and to make the season a joyous one for them.
Arulogun further assured that the state government was working towards ensuring payment of other outstanding salary arrears.
“It gladdens my heart to say, at this auspicious moment, that the Oyo State government has approved the payment of two months salaries to workers in the state in the spirit of the season and to make this festive season a joyous one for them. The salaries will be for June and July.”
“Government is trying to see how it can even go beyond two months. Workers have started getting their alerts so that workers can have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. This is in line with government’s commitment to ensure that workers have a good opportunity to earn their pay and government is trying all it can to ensure that workers do not suffer.”
Meanwhile, the state House of Assembly has passed into law the Budget Alignment Bill, the Oyo State Infrastructure Maintenance and Control Agency bill, and the Oyo State Primary Health Care Development Agency bill.
