Ghana’s incumbent president, John Dramani Mahama is seeking re-election after winning the last elections in 2012. He will come up against six other candidates in the race to secure a second four-year term as election holds today
The 54-year-old Mahama is flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Among the six other contenders are Nana Addo Danquah of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), a former first lady, three others and an independent presidential aspirant.
