The UEFA Champions League have today revealed their eight selections for this week’s UCL player of the week.
The list was good reading for the Premier League, with two of the players sourced from the EPL.
Man City’s Kevin De Bruyne
The Sky Blues’ TinTin lookalike started the match against Barcelona rather quietly, but Pep Guardiola then instructed his playmaker to feature higher up the pitch and everything changed.
De Bruyne was sublime against the Catalans, scoring a terrific free-kick in the process.
Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil
As for the Gunners, their incredible 3-2 comeback win in Bulgaria against Ludogorets was sealed in memorable fashion.
In the 88th Mesut Ozil latched onto a ball over the top, he lifted the ball over the keeper, dummied two defenders, before producing the cool finish.
The other six
Completing the list are Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, Monaco’s revived Radamel Falcao, Juve forward Gonzalo Higuain, Atletico’s Antoine Griezmann, Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale and BVB’s Adrian Ramos.
