Russia To Face Sanction Over Crowd Trouble – UEFA has announced that Russia is under investigation following violence after it’s 1-1 draw with England at the Euro 2016.
Russia will face a disciplinary panel after the European football governing body leveled 3 charges against it: crowd disturbances, racist behaviour and setting off fireworks.
Photo and video footage showed Russian fans breaching security barriers and attacking England supporters after the full time whistle.
There has been fan trouble in France even before the tournament officially kicked off, with violence having been ongoing in Marseille for over 3days. At least 35 people were reportedly injured in Saturday’s violence, and UEFA will determine any sanctions to be given on Tuesday.
